Marsalkka

Inspired by a distinguished guest. Commander of the Finnish Army and Finland’s 6th president, Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, was a beloved Hotel Kämp regular. Mannerheim stayed at the hotel throughout the summer of 1919. During the 1940s, amid the Continuation War, he asked his adjutant to improve the taste of the harsh wartime drink. The solution was a blend of drinks in an ice cold glass filled to the brim. Today, Mannerheim’s signature blend lives on, aptly named Marsalkka (“The Marshal”). Tradition demands it be enjoyed in steady sips, without spilling a drop.
